What it shows

The pastoral lease boundaries across Western Australia, from the state SLIP land service (the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage pastoral-stations dataset). Pastoral leases cover most of WA's rangeland interior, the country a lot of prospecting happens on. This is not closed ground: you may prospect on a pastoral lease with a Miner's Right, but you must take reasonable steps to notify the pastoralist first, and written consent is required within 100 m of a homestead, building, yard, cultivated land or airstrip, and within 400 m of a dam, well, bore or other water works. You are on a working station, so leave gates as you find them and stay clear of stock. Tap a station for its name and pastoral lease number, which is what you use to identify the station and reach the lessee before you detect. Lease boundaries change slowly, but always confirm the current access rules before you go on.
