What it shows
The graticular block grid that Western Australia's mining tenement system is pegged on. Exploration licences and section-40E prospecting permits are granted over whole graticular blocks, so this grid is how a permit's ground is described. It carries two resolutions that swap by zoom: the coarse 5-minute parent blocks read when zoomed out, and the fine 1-minute blocks fade in as you zoom into a local area, each labelled with its block number. Use it to read which numbered block you are standing on and to match a permit's block reference to the ground. It shows the grid only, not who holds each block.
