A heat map built from the Victoria gold-occurrence points. It colours the ground by how densely recorded gold clusters, and each point counts for more the more significant it is, so a working mine weighs heavier than a bare occurrence. The density is sorted into six bands. The goldfield cores around Bendigo and Ballarat read intensely hot. Read it to spot productive ground, then turn on the gold-occurrence points to see the individual finds. This is a guide to where gold has been recorded, not a promise of gold today.
