What it shows
The ground the Tasmania LiDAR Relief layer covers, so a patch can be checked before a trip rather than found blank on the day. Shaded areas have bare-earth LiDAR relief, and everything else does not. Survey now reaches right across the island rather than the recorded goldfield districts alone, but it is still not everywhere: covered country can sit beside ground with nothing at all, so check the patch itself rather than the district. Where this layer is blank, no LiDAR survey has been flown and mapped into the relief layer for that ground: it is not a download that failed, and waiting or re-downloading will not fill it. The outline is measured from the relief layer's own map tiles rather than from a government survey footprint, so it shows the ground that is actually there to download, which is the narrower of the two.
