Surface geology covering Western Australia, from Geoscience Australia's national 1:1,000,000 map, painted in the survey's own per-unit colours. The coloured areas are rock units (lithology). The lines are mapped faults and contacts. This is a broad-scale national map, coarser than the eastern-state surveys, used because WA publishes no openly-licensed full-coverage surface-geology map of its own that you can tap and query. For finer detail, read it alongside the look-only 1:250,000 geology image. Tap a unit for its name, lithology and age, or a line for the structure type. Use it to follow a favourable rock or a fault into new ground.
