New South Wales LiDAR Relief
Bare-earth LiDAR hillshade over New South Wales and the ACT.
What it shows
Shaded relief built from NSW Spatial Services bare-earth LiDAR, at one and two metres, and from the ACT Government's own surveys over Canberra and the rest of the Territory. Trees and buildings are stripped away, so it shows the ground itself: old workings, sluiced gullies, races, dam walls, terraces and creek lines that no ordinary map shows. Read it to find where ground has been worked before and to follow the lie of the land into new country. Where no LiDAR was flown the layer is blank rather than coarse, so everything drawn is detail a survey actually captured. The detail holds as you zoom in, and the look can be changed to suit the ground.
