What it shows
Three kinds of fossicking ground in Queensland, mapped by the Department of Resources and merged into one set: gazetted Fossicking Areas, Designated Fossicking Land, and General Permission Areas. Together these are the places a Queensland fossicking licence lets you fossick. Where a General Permission Area has a no-go pocket inside it, that pocket is kept separate and marked, never flattened into a permitted fill. Being inside a permitted area is only part of the picture. A current fossicking licence is still required, landholder access can apply, and the rules change over time, so check the current conditions before you dig.
